Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer and gender diverse people are identified as being particularly vulnerable to domestic, family and sexual violence. While greater research needs to be done, one study found that 25% experienced sexual assault within a same-sex relationship, despite the LGBTIQ+ community representing around only 11% of the population.
