Summary of Service

Living Well is an Australian service providing support to men who have experienced sexual abuse or sexual assault, as well as to their partners and loved ones.

If you have any questions about our services, or would like some support or counselling, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us. Simply call by phone,  or email, and a counsellor will respond as soon as possible.

Programs and Initiatives

The Living Well website and App are recognised Australian resources to assist and support men who have experienced childhood sexual abuse or sexual assault, as well as their partners, families, supporters, and trauma workers in this field.

And we provide a range of direct services to men, and to their partners, families and supporters. These include:

  • Face to face counselling for individuals, couples, or families (based in South East Queensland). Offices are at Strathpine and Buranda.
  • Telephone counselling (Mostly in Queensland, but advice and referral across Australia).
  • Online counselling via email, or text-based chat (Australia-wide).
  • Groups for men (monthly support groups) and for partners (bi monthly support groups). All groups are facilitated by a counsellor.

Emergency Relief

None.

Safe Space/Waiting Space

The waiting areas are for men, women and occasionally children. There are administration officers at a desk in each waiting area almost all of opening hours.

Accessiblity

We have easy physical access from street front into waiting area and flat into counselling rooms at Strathpine office, and a ramp into the building at Buranda office.

We can access interpreters if needed, but no-one on staff with Auslan. Please advise us if you require an interpreter.

Our website has a series of videos in Auslan and resources downloadable in several languages.
